There is a lot to consider in choosing an Adult Foster Care home.  Location is important and care is also a consideration, as well as how your loved one fits with the other seniors and whether their interests and age and memory, are compatible within the Adult Foster Care home.  We try to match those with your loved one to make a good fit particularly if your Mom or Dad are alert and like to converse, regardless of their physical abilities.  When it is time for meals, most homes like to eat meals together forming a family bond, whenever possible.  Individual care is most important as well as personal needs.  There are basically three levels of care in all Adult Foster Care homes in Oregon. Light, medium and heavy that correspond to those three. In determining specific health needs, we  perform a personal assessment and make recommendations to those homes that may specialize in those areas that are most needed. Some homes are furnished but will make room for your twin bed, dresser, chair and other personal belongings, and recommend pictures or family photos that depict their past. In taking an assessment, we can establish level of care needs and provide an idea of cost and how that fits within your budget, and of course this is a no fee referral service to you.
